Garage Door Panel Replacement on a residential garage door in the Barrie area

Garage Door Panel Replacement

Damaged sections swapped without replacing the whole door.

About this service

A reversing car, a hockey net or a hard winter can wreck one section of an otherwise healthy door. Replacing that section keeps the rest of the door, hardware and spring system in service.

We identify the door's manufacturer, series and panel profile, source a matching section where one is available, transfer hinges, rollers and hardware, and re-balance the door for the new section weight.

Warning signs

  • A dented, split or buckled section after an impact
  • Rust perforation along the bottom section
  • A panel that no longer meets its neighbour along the seam
  • Delaminated or water-damaged insulated sections

We confirm whether a matching section is available before recommending panel replacement.

03

The door is supported, the damaged section removed, and hinges and hardware transferred.

04

Re-balance and test

Spring balance is re-checked for the new section and the door cycled and adjusted.

FAQ

Garage Door Panel Replacement questions

Still unsure? Call (647) 493-8072 or email info@suregaragerepair.ca.

On current door models the match is usually very close. On discontinued doors an exact match may not exist, and we will say so rather than fitting a section that stands out.

It depends on how many sections are damaged and the age of the door. One damaged section on a sound door usually favours panel replacement; several damaged sections often favour replacement.

A crease weakens the section and can let the door flex or bind in the track, which puts extra load on hinges and rollers, so it is worth addressing rather than ignoring.
